In 2016 the Orthopaedica Belgica Congress focused on “current concepts in arthroplasty”. It provided a program of high scientific quality that was strongly supported by the national subgroups. The combination of theoretical and practical elements provided plenty of space for exciting dialogs and discussions that resulted in a detailed overview of the current concepts in joint replacement.

New in 2016: the BOTRA was actively involved and organised a symposium on specific challenges residents and young surgeons are facing regarding arthroplasty. Interaction between young talent and experienced surgeons were highly stimulated. The VVOV and VOGV also joined forces to make an attractive nursing program of high quality. Furthermore, AXXON and physiotherapists had a dedicated rehab session about the painful total joint.

With no doubt, the 2016 edition was a great success, gathering more than 800 participants at the Belgian seaside in Knokke!
